Habitat adds new member to board

Attorney Linda Northrup recently was voted to the board of directors of Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County.
Since 1983, the independent Habitat affiliate has repaired more than 300 homes and built 56 Northrup homes for area families in need. Habitat also runs two Habitat ReStore outlets in Oxnard and Simi Valley that accept donations of new, surplus, salvaged and gently used home improvement materials, which it sells at a discount to help fund repair and building programs.
Northrup, a founding partner of Northrup Schlueter, was admitted to the California Bar in 1981 and founded the firm as a sole practitioner in 1996. She represents individuals and institutional clients in business, real estate and construction matters.
Northrup received her Bachelor of Arts degree at UCLA inl978 and graduated from UC Hastings College of Law in 1981. She belongs to the Los Angeles County Bar Association, American Bar Association, Women Lawyers’ Association of Los Angeles and Business Litigation Inn of Court She was named a Super Lawyer in 2007 and 2011.
As a board member, Northrup helps to advise Habitat and keep the nonprofit running smoothly.
